AfPIF 2018: Call for Papers

The 9th African Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF) will be held from August 21st to 23rd August in Cape Town, South Africa in conjunction with iWeek.

The Programme Committee is currently seeking proposals for content including presentations and panel discussions. See here for more details: https://www.afpif.org/afpif2018/call-for-papers/

The event will focus on Internet interconnection dynamics, content issues, and other critical components of transit deficits at the domestic and regional level. The audience will include infrastructure providers, Internet service providers (ISPs), Internet exchange points (IXPs), mobile network operators (MNOs), content providers, large enterprise networks, policy-makers, and regulators. AFIX 2017: AfPIF Event Presentations

Attached are copies of presentations given at AFIX 2017 meeting in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire on Monday, August 21st. The event was held in conjunction with the Africa Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF) and was sponsored by The Internet Society. The AfPIF event website can be found here: http://www.internetsociety.org/afpif/2017/

A few additional notes regarding the meeting and presentations:

  1. The Cloudflare presentation indicated on the agenda did not occur due to Air France's inability to deliver the presenter, Martin Levy.
  2. The ARDA presentation noted in the agenda did not have slides. It was a live demonstration using the project website: http://arda.af-ix.net/ARP/index.php
  3. The presentation on IXP Jedi by Hisham Ibrahim (RIPE) took place in the afternoon session but was not included in the original agenda.
  4. Flexoptix became the first official paying patron of the African IXP Association at this meeting.
